Drawing Tools

Yesterday we explored many different drawing tools and websites!  One of my favorite drawing websites was called Kerpoof Studio.  I liked it because it was easy to use and there is many colors you can use to add to your creation!  My favorite feature was the undo button so if you mess up it makes it much quicker to erase your mistake.  Kerpoof Studio also allows you to share your picture by saving, emailing, or even printing it off!
The second website I found interesting was called Bomomo.  You start out with a blank sheet of paper and you can pick any shape you want to start your creation.  The shape follows your mouse around and when you click the sheet it add different colors and a different thickness to your art work.  When you are finished you end up with a colorful, abstract piece of art that you got to create!

Blog Viewers

According to my flag counter, I have had 219 page views and only one flag has been counted and that has been the United States.  On my FeedJit count, all of my visitors have been from Goodland, Kansas and have visited my blog in the past four days.  Lastly, on my Blog Stats, overall I have had 345 page views with 124 coming from the past month.  So far, everyone that has visited my blog is from the United States also.  I have already had 8 people visit my blog today and according to my traffic sources, one of the viewers is from my Computer Essentials class!

Google Voice

Google Voice is an easy, great way to communicate with others without a phone!  On Google Hangouts, there is a small box on the lower left hand corner that allows you to type in any phone number and call it from the computer, completely free.  You can set up Google Voice so if you want to call someone and reach them on all different lines (computer, cell phone, home phone) it will ring on all of them.  The benefit of using Google Voice is it's easier to call and reach an individual on all different lines.

Avatar

An avatar is a cartoon version of a real person and we had the chance to visit a few websites that allow you to create them.  The three avatar websites we used today was Build Yourself Wild, South Park Studio, and Be Funky.
At Build Yourself Wild they give you the option of what gender, type of clothes, hair, accesories you want on your individual.  Then, it gets really wild when you can pick out animal parts and crazy backgrounds to put on your creature.  When you finish the website makes a name for your avatar combining all of the animal parts you used so you end up with a funky looking creature with a long name!
Then I visited South Park Studio where I could create my own animated South Park Character.  This website also allows you to pick hair, clothes, shoes, accessories, you name it and it is there!  My favorite feature was when it allowed you to put tattoos and chest hair onto the body.  When you finish you end up with a hilarious looking South Park character that looks like it came straight out of the show.
Lastly, I went to Be Funky which I really enjoyed because it lets you take your own personal pictures and edit them.  It gave you the chance to upload pictures or take one on a webcam.  Some of the features on the editing tool were adding make-up to your picture, or removing blemishes, or layering on fun effects that add a cool look to the photo.

Google Products

I enjoyed using some of the Google Products and my three favorites were Google Presentation, Google Maps, and Google Translate.
We used Google Presentation to make a slide show.  Google Presentation allows you to use colors, shapes, numbers, lines, whatever you can imagine to put together a few slides for fun! It is easy to use and it saves everything automatically so you never have to worry about a document getting lost.
Another product we used was Google Maps is a huge help if you are in an unfamiliar place, it will show you different routes to take and how long (in miles) it will take to get there.  Also, there is a street view feature on Google Maps that has pictures from a satellite that are actual pictures from the area you are searching.  For example, you could search the street your house is on and you can get actual pictures of your house!
Lastly, there is Google Translate will help you translate words into different languages.  It would come in handy if you were traveling to another country and needed to figure out what they were saying.  I use Google Translate for my Spanish class!

My Poll
Poll Everywhere allows you to create your own poll, whether it be multiple choice, true or false, or fill in the blank.  It is user friendly and easy to create, all you have to do is type in a question and fill in the answers for it.  Then, you post it and at the top of the screen it provides a phone number to send your answers to.  As the answers come in, it creates a chart for you to look at to decipher what was the most popular answer!

Google Hangout

Google Hangout is a fun way to interact with your friends! It allows you to video chat with multiple friends at a time, it allows you to have nine people on your chat at one time!  Not only is it a way to get in contact with other people but it also has various props you can add to the chat (hats, glasses, backgrounds, noises, etc..) so you and your friends can have fun with it.  Google Hangout is a fantastic and easy way to keep in touch with friends and it allows you to have fun while you are at it!
